BROCKPORT, NY—A piece of art created by one of the leading American modernist metal sculptors will be installed on The College at Brockport, State University of New York, campus on Aug. 7. Albert Paley’s “Conclave” will be located on the main walkway of Brockport’s academic and residential corridor, between the Albert Brown Building and the Hazen Center for Integrated Care.
The 22’ by 6’ by 30’ sculpture, which was created by Paley in 1984, was built with formed and fabricated steel and had long been on display outside of Rochester’s Harro East Theater and Ballroom. A generous donation by Brockport Emeritus Professor of Political Science Bill Andrews funded Paley’s recent restoration of the work so that it can be displayed at the College.
The installation will take place Thursday morning. Andrews and Jeffrey Jubenville, the studio foreman at Paley Studios, will be available to media at 10:30 am.
