SUNY Brockport Welcomes New Faculty - New Presidential Fellow Program Increases Diversity
Brockport, NY – The 2006-07 academic year began with 24 new faculty members on staff at SUNY Brockport.
“We are happy to welcome such an impressive group of scholars to the SUNY Brockport community. Their credentials, accomplishments, wide range of experiences and dedication to teaching students will continue SUNY Brockport’s commitment to student success,” said P. Michael Fox, SUNY Brockport interim provost and vice president of academic affairs.
First Presidential Fellows Named
SUNY Brockport developed the Presidential Fellows Program in 2006 to enhance the diversity of undergraduate education, recruiting faculty to broaden the undergraduate curriculum. The inaugural program was highly successful, culminating in the selection and appointment of three outstanding Presidential Fellows. They include:
Carl Davila PhD,Assistant Professor of Anthropology and History and Presidential Fellow,PhD in Arabic Studies and Anthropology from Yale University
Rynetta Davis PhD, Visiting Assistant Professor of English and Presidential Fellow, PhD in English from the University of Kentucky
Kenneth Nixon JD, Assistant Professor of African and African-American Studies and Presidential Fellow, JD in Law from the State University of New York at Buffalo
