Eligible Internship Majors (Freshman - Senior)
The College at Brockport offers a unique and distinct opportunity for highly qualified science and math teacher candidates who pursue careers in teaching science or math through the Robert Noyce scholarship program. Building from our exceptional legacy in science and math teacher education linked to computational sciences, our NSF-funded Robert Noyce scholarship program seeks to prepare a new generation of exemplary teachers who are able to excite and engage students' learning of the science and math areas critical to the future of our nation. The Robert Noyce program works in partnership with Brockport's CMST Institute to provide a platform for research-based methods in teaching with technology and social-constructivist pedagogy.
Supported by a federal grant through the National Science Foundation, the Noyce program will offer scholarships to up to 20 qualified teacher candidates: 10 each at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Scholarship Recipients receive:
The criteria for the program* includes among others, a minimum G.P.A. and the requirement that recipients commit to teach two years as a science or math teacher in a district having at least one high-needs building (e.g. locally Batavia, Medina, Albion, RCSD, and Greece) for each year the scholarship is received. Deadlines for applications are February 15 and September 15 annually. (*Note: Internships and scholarships have different requirements).
