Linda H. Snell, DNS, RN
In addition to her role on the nursing faculty, Dr. Snell serves as the Associate Dean for the School of Health and Human Performance. She came to The College at Brockport in 2001, having previously taught nursing at D'Youville College and SUNY Buffalo.
Dr. Snell graduated from Roberts Wesleyan College with a BS in nursing and earned MS and DNS degrees in women's health nursing from SUNY Buffalo. She has had over 10 years of experience in maternal/child nursing and over 15 years of clinical experience as a women's health nurse practitioner. She is a member of a number of professional nursing organizations, including the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric, & Neonatal Nurses, Sigma Theta Tau, the American Nurses Association, the Genesee Valley Nurses Association, and the National Organization of Nurses with Disabilities.
Dr. Snell's research interests include the health care of women with disabilities, patient safety, nurse practitioner issues, and efforts to improve nursing education. She has done multiple presentations and publications on these issues.
Currently, Dr. Snell teaches Leadership and Management in the senior year of the nursing program.
Dr. Snell and her husband, Alden, live in Clarence. Their son Alden II, and daughter in law Christin, are musicians and live in Brockport with two young sons. Their son Christopher lives on Long Island and is an actuary in New York City.
