Program Objectives  

The program objectives describe the graduate as one who will be able to:

  1. Integrate theories and concepts from nursing, the liberal arts, sciences, and humanities into professional nursing practice in a world of global interdependence.
  2. Utilize the nursing process and emerging technology to provide safe and wholistic care through primary, secondary, and tertiary preventions with clients in a variety of health care settings.
  3. Communicate effectively in therapeutic and professional relationships.
  4. Engage in evidence based practice care of clients.
  5. Articulate a professional philosophy that reflects autonomy, advocacy, social justice, accountability, responsibility and ethical decision making.
  6. Collaborate with individuals, families, communities, populations, and interdisciplinary team members to promote optimal client stability and eliminate health care disparities.
  7. Integrate processes and skills for critical thinking, management and leadership to promote and improve health care delivery.
  8. Evaluate nursing care outcomes within the context of clients values and well-being.
