Is Orientation required?
Yes. All new students are required to attend Freshman Orientation. During orientation, students are familiarized with various campus resources and departments considered essential to their success while attending The College at Brockport. Getting off to a great start at Brockport is much easier when students know where to go, how to get there, where to study, and who to ask for help. All of these things happen at Freshman Orientation. If you are unable to attend the summer orientation, there is a fall - one day program - that you will be required to attend. It is not as detailed as the two day summer program but will still give you the necessary information.
Students in the Arthur O. Eve Opportunity for Higher Education Program attend a separate program over the summer.

Which session should I register for?
Attending the session for your School is highly recommended. If you are unable to do so due to scheduling conflicts, you may attend one of the other sessions.
Should family members attend orientation?
Although family members are welcome to attend orientation, their attendance is not required. Each year, approximately 50 percent of students bring a family member with them. Many parents who are going through the college process for the first time find the information provided at Freshman Orientation very helpful. Guests have a separate, concurrent program.
How do guests register to attend orientation?
Once students register through Web Banner, they receive a confirmation email with a link and instructions for guest registration. Please keep in mind when creating an account that the College will not have access to this information, so guests should write down their username and password.
Where do family members stay during orientation?
For an additional fee, guests can stay overnight on campus in the Student Townhomes. Guests may stay in the Student Townhomes located on campus. The Townhomes have four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen and common area. The College does not provide linens, so please bring bedding and towels if you are staying in the Townhomes. Guests who prefer to stay off campus can find a listing of local accommodations at area lodging.
Should family members register their students?
No. It is extremely important that students become familiar with the online systems and their personal login credentials, as they will use these throughout their time at Brockport.
What is the cost of Freshman Orientation?
The nonrefundable fee for Freshman Orientation is automatically placed on all student bills whether they attend or not. The fee covers all program materials, staff, meals, housing, activities, etc. Family members pay an additional fee. Students in the Arthur O.
