Summer Orientation 2009
TRANSFER STUDENTS WITH LESS THAN 24 CREDITS
Students transferring in less than 24 college credits are invited to attend either our SOAR Transfer Program OR the overnight Summer Orientation. We RECOMMEND you attend the Summer Orientation program; there is a special session devoted to you on July 6-7.
If you cannot attend those dates, please choose another orientation session that meets your scheduling needs. For a complete list of dates, click here.
Eligible students can reserve their spot beginning in mid-April.
At Summer Orientation, you will:
- Receive your fall course schedule
- Receive general academic advisement and one-on-one advisement as needed
- Attend Brockport 101: a seminar designed for transfers with freshman status to help students acclimate to Brockport’s academic environment as a new transfer.
- Take the required Computer Skills Exam
- Get your Eagle One Student ID card and set up your Brockport e-mail account
- Navigate through Banner and ANGEL (Brockport’s campus information and course management systems)
- Receive your Summer Reading book
- Learn about opportunities to get involved on campus
- Pre-order your textbooks
- Purchase a parking permit
- Socialize with other transfer students with freshman status
- Learn about various student services
- Take a tour of the campus and a bus tour of the Village of Brockport
- Tie up any loose ends before the start of the fall semester
