Joe started at Brockport in 1965 so spans five decades. When asked accomplishments important to him, he cites the beginning of America's first master's degree program in adapted physical education at Brockport in 1968, beginning the undergraduate concentration, his grants enabling hundreds of students to pursue the master's degree program, his research (particularly the development of the Brockport Physical Fitness Test), and his edited text entitled Adapted Physical Education and Sport
