Athletic Administration Track

For those holding an initial certificate in Physical Education, successful completion of a Master's degree in Education through the Athletic Administration track will satisfy the Master's degree requirement for professional certification.

 Students interested in pursuing athletic administration without teacher certification in physical education as well as those who wish to pursue athletic administration with certification in physical education should contact/consult with one of the following individuals prior to making application for admission.

The Athletic Administration graduate track is designed to help prepare future athletic administrators within school-based organizations such as public secondary schools, junior/community colleges as well as colleges, and universities. The track involves the entire spectrum of management of school-related sports programs including, but not limited to, preparation of athletic directors, assistant or associate athletic directors, sports information directors, as well as sports promoters and fundraisers (at the secondary level as well as the junior/community college level and collegiate/university level). The scope includes six credits of core requirements in research as well as specific courses in athletic administration. One sample listing of courses that might be assigned as part of a student's program of study (POS) is provided below.
