In addition, the Teacher Certification concentration is accredited by NCATE and the Athletic Training concentration is accredited by CAATE. A listing of courses to attain competencies in the graduate track in adapted physical education and complete other requirements in the master's degree program in physical education appear below. Briefly, the core part of the master's degree is designed for the student to develop abilities pertaining to research. In the second part, the student develops competencies which lead to a concentration in Adapted Physical Education, and, if elected, to an emphasis in early childhood adapted physical education.The second part also includes courses in the advanced certificate in Adapted Physical Education. In the 3rd and 4th parts, the student elects additional knowledge in physical education or cognate areas which result in an integrated program. The student applies knowledge in field experiences as a required part of the concentration.
