Philosophy lecture on "The Morality of Dangerous Sport” - by Dr. Nicholas Dixon |
| The Department of Physical Education and Sport and the Physical Education Majors Club cordially invite you to a lecture by Dr. Nicholas Dixon, Wesley and Elma Dykstra Professor of Philosophy and Chair of the Department of Philosophy at Alma College in Michigan. Dr. Dixon is an internationally known scholar in the philosophy of sport. He is editor of Journal of the Philosophy of Sport, Past President of the International Association for the Philosophy of Sport and author of such well-cited articles as On Winning and Athletic Superiority, On Sportsmanship and “Running Up the Score,” and Rorty, Performance-Enhancing Drugs, and Change in Sport. Dr. Dixon’s lecture entitled “The Morality of Dangerous Sport” will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, November 2nd in the west end of Seymour Union Ballroom, and is open to the Brockport community.
