Sports Management

Dr. William F. Stier, sport management program director and Distinguished Service Professor, continued to build his reputation of being known as one of the leading sport management scholars in the world. Dr. Stier is the editor of four scholarly journals, the author of more than 20 textbooks, and has had more than 300 articles published.

Dr. Robert Schneider, associate professor, is completing an ethics of sport management textbook and published four articles for sport management journals this year.

Dr. Eugene Orbaker continues as an outstanding teacher in the sport management program where students have come to treasure his wisdom and wealth of experiences that he offers.

And Mr. Gary Parisi serves as an associate faculty member who enthusiastically brings many industry components of sport management into the classroom.
The faculty's past employment experiences in such areas as directing athletics, managing sport businesses, and coaching enable us to provide our majors with practical knowledge and the skills necessary to realize their goals as professionals. Classroom learning experiences are best described as “active” and often feature the solving of real world case studies.
