The bachelor of science degree in Athletic Training is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).  The program also meets all the requirements of the New York State Education Department for registration as a license-qualifying program for professional purposes. Program graduates are eligible for licensure in New York as a certified athletic trainer.  The major in Athletic Training provides an opportunity for the study of athletic training within six domains including prevention; clinical evaluation and diagnosis; immediate care; treatment, rehabilitation and reconditioning; organization and administration; and professional responsibility.  The academic major provides the students with the necessary didactic education and clinical experiences to attain national certification (BOC) as an athletic trainer (ATC).  The classroom portion of the major is tied closely to five semesters of hands-on clinical experience, during which students work in various allied health and athletic settings.

The Athletic Training Concentration is accredited through CAATE
