In addition the following online courses are required for New York State coach certification: Heads Up, Concussion in Youth Sports for these professions, which is a free web-based course that has been developed by the CDC. http://www.cdc.gov/concussion/HeadsUp/online_training.html Another free option is to go to www.nysphsaa.org and click on safety and research. From there, click on CDC "Heads Up, Concussion in Youth Sports" Course for Physical Education Teachers and Coaches. Coaches must complete this NYSED approved course every two years.
