The Professional Education Unit at The College of Brockport is nationally accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). The Unit is governed by the Professional Education Council (PEC) and linked to the professional community through the Unit Advisory Board. The Unit Teacher Effectiveness and Assessment committees are the two standing committees of the PEC.
The Professional Education Council (PEC) is the standing committee that shall serve as the central governing body of the Unit. All other standing and ad hoc committees of the Unit shall make recommendations to the PEC, which, in turn, shall make recommendations to the Head of the Unit.The primary function of the PEC is to advise the Head of the Unit on all matters related to professional education on the Brockport campus. The Head of the Unit serves as chairperson of the PEC.
