The Professional Education Unit at The College of Brockport is nationally accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). The Unit is governed by the Professional Education Council (PEC) and linked to the professional community through the Unit Advisory Board. The Unit Teacher Effectiveness and Assessment committees are the two standing committees of the PEC.
The College at Brockport has the School Leadership Program in the Department of Educational Administration that leads to the Certificate of Advanced Study for the School Building Leader and the School District Leader. (Learn about NYS Certification ) . The Certificate of Advanced Study requires candidates to hold a Master's degree and have other professional experience. The program provides the opportunity for candidates to develop and demonstrate the competencies of a professionally certified school leaders as identified by the Professional Education Unit's (PEU) faculty.
