The Professional Education Unit at The College of Brockport is nationally accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). The Unit is governed by the Professional Education Council (PEC) and linked to the professional community through the Unit Advisory Board. The Unit Teacher Effectiveness and Assessment committees are the two standing committees of the PEC.

Preparing Highly Competent Professionals in Education
Welcome to the Professional Education Unit at The College of Brockport--the academic unit on campus devoted to the preparation of education professionals. All education professional preparation programs on campus make up the Unit: School Counselor preparation in the Department of Counselor Education, Education Leader preparation in the Department of Educational Administration, and Initial and Advanced Teacher preparation in the Departments of Education and Human Development, Kinesiology, Sport Studies, and Physical Education (KSSPE), Health Science, and Dance.
