Career Opportunities

While 50 percent of SUNY Brockport's international studies majors have gone on to graduate school, all international studies graduates are prepared for a wide variety of jobs, including positions with: 

  • Departments and agencies of the United States government, such as those responsible for agriculture, education, energy, health, sports, trade and foreign service. 
  • Transnational public and private organizations, such as multinational corporations, banks, shipping firms, air transportation companies, United Nations agencies, the Red Cross and international labor organizations. 
  • Public-interest organizations, including groups concerned with arms control and disarmament, conservations, energy, the environment and public health. 
  • Local and state governments with "global worries," such as Great Lakes pollution, immigration and international aspects of disease control. 
  • Peace Corps. 
  • Trade associations.
