EagleCHECK
This interactive program explores the role that bystanders play in identifying, preventing and responding to situations that have the potential to be dangerous.  Specific attention  is paid to discussing alcohol poisoning and sexual assault on and off-campus and how students can keep themselves and their peers safe.  Each participant receives an EagleCHECK keychain outlining the signs of alcohol poisoning and how to respond!

This program will be offered on each residence hall floor during August/September 2010.
Co-sponsored by The College at Brockport’s Women’s Center.

Choice. Control. Character.
High-risk drinking among college students is the most pressing health concern on campuses around the country.  This session explores the consequences of high-risk drinking, party safety and responsible and healthy choices related to alcohol use!

  Mental Health First Aid
Concerned about a friend, but not sure how to talk to them? Mental Health First Aid provides students with an opportunity to practices these conversations, as well as information on common college student mental health concerns, campus resources and how to stay mentally fit!

 

The Power of Positive Thinking!
It’s all about your attitude!  College students face challenges everyday – with academics, social lives, relationships, and the future. Keeping a positive attitude can help you tackle these challenges head on, reframe challenges as opportunities and be successful inside and outside the classroom!

Mental Fitness
10 ways to beat stress in 45 minutes!  This program offers a stress management technique for everyone, as well as an overview of campus resources related to managing stress!

Sexy Bingo!
It’s a perfect mix of luck and sexual health knowledge!  Be a big winner and walk away with one of our sexual responsibility prize packages!

Financial Health
Staying financially healthy can be a hard task during the college years.  This workshop provides practical tips to budgeting, saving money, credit cards and preparing for the future without cramping your style! 

N2K:  Need to Know College Health Tips
These are the top 10 tips you need to know to stay healthy and be successful as students.  We cover everything from sleep to sex to eating in the dining halls to services on campus!  This workshop is your one-shop-stop for all your health needs!

Keep It Sexually Safe (K.I.S.S.)
Condoms, Communication, STIs – oh my!  This jeopardy game pits teams together in a match of “sexes hold ‘em” and tests your knowledge of birth control methods, abstinence, STIs, sexual assault prevention and campus services. Let’s see if you walk away with your “Sexpert” Certificate!

Eat This, Not That – College Style!
Become a mindful eater and learn the “ins and outs” of maintaining a healthy lifestyle while balancing your academic and personal lives at Eat This, Not That – College Style!  With some simple food substitutions, a commitment to physical activity and a move towards eating mindfully any student can be healthy student!

This program, facilitated by members of The College at Brockport Runner’s Club, will help get runners at every level moving! Hazing: Rite or Wrong?
Often viewed as a "rite of passage," hazing is illegal and those involved often experience physical, mental, social and legal consequences. This program focuses on debunking myths regarding hazing, the role alcohol plays in hazing, developing a "brand" of integrity for your organization and ways to build your team in a positive way!

Teambuilding 101
Strong teams communicate, have a shared vision and respect individual characteristics and talents. Through a variety of activities, this program may have you thinking differently about what it means to be a member of your organization, team, or residence hall! Remember – tough times don’t last, tough teams do!

Be SHARP! (Sexual Harassment and Assault Response and Prevention)
This program explores sexual harassment and sexual assault within the college context.  Special attention is paid to the role that both men and women play in prevention gender related violence, the roles of bystanders and how to support a peer who may have experience sexual harassment or assault.                                                      Co-sponsored by The College at Brockport’s Women’s Center.

Getting What You Want from Relationships!
Developing and maintaining healthy relationships, both platonic and romantic, can be harder that it sounds. This program highlights the characteristics of healthy relationships and how communication can be used to enhance relationships. Make a date for this program! Co-sponsored by The College at Brockport’s Women’s Center.

Experience Western New York!
Who knew getting involved on and off-campus could be so good for your health!  This program highlights many of the outstanding opportunities for students to get involved and be active in the Brockport and surrounding areas. Come learn about many of the great escapes in our area – including state parks, day trips, Late Night with Ellsworth and other health-related activities!
