About the Certificate Programs
The Public Administration Department offers two graduate certificate programs: a Certificate in Nonprofit Management, and a Certificate in Arts Administration (in conjunction with the MFA degree offered by the Visual Studies Workshop), and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management.
The Certificate in Arts Administration is available only to students matriculated in either the Master of Public Administration (MPA) or Master of Fine Arts (MFA) program through the Visual Studies Workshop at the College at Brockport.
The Certificate in Nonprofit Management is available to matriculated MPA students, to students matriculated in other graduate programs at Brockport, and to students who have earned a baccalaureate degree who wish to apply only for the Certificate in Nonprofit Management.
Admission Requirements
Students applying to either of the Public Administration Certificate programs must meet regular MPA degree admission requirements. Eligibility to apply for the Certificate in Nonprofit Management requires a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
Eligibility to apply for the Certificate in Arts Administration requires that the student be matriculated in either the Master of Public Administration (MPA) or Master of Fine Arts (MFA) program in the Visual Studies Workshop at The College at Brockport.
Application Process
Applications are reviewed twice a year: March 1 (for summer and fall admission) and October 1 (for spring admission). Complete applications should be mailed directly to: Office of Graduate Admissions, The College at Brockport, 350 New Campus Drive, Brockport, NY 14420-2915.
There are two different applications for the Certificate programs:
1) Application for Internal Applicants (those matriculated in a master's program at Brockport). Click here to download this application.![]()

Application for those not currently matriculated in a Brockport master's program. E-mail gradadmit@brockport.edu to request an application. (Note: Letters of recommendation are not required for the Certificate programs.)
There is no application fee for students currently matriculated in any master’s program at Brockport.
