Oct. 4 Banner implementation project status report

By Larry Humm, project coordinator

1. Undergraduate Admissions using Banner for incoming fall 2002 class.

· Installation of SICAS procedures required some modifications of values in SUNY Brockport's base tables.

2. Alumni/Development received additional training.

· Event Management and Prospect Management modules were the focus of this month's training.

· Web for Development Officers was demonstrated as a useful office tool.

· Refinement of the Foundation Chart of Accounts and General Ledger continued.

· We need to fine-tune the acknowledgment process.

3. Conversion programming, data clean-up, and EAGLE-to-Banner testing proceeding.

· Faculty table on preproduction system populated from state personnel file.

· Student demographic data conversion is ready for testing.

· Specifications have been written for converting academic history.

· We have begun the tedious process of

identifying anomalies in student academic history on EAGLE and correcting them before we migrate the data to Banner.

· Successful conversion will require each EAGLE entry to have an unambiguous map to a Banner entry. Since Banner is constructed around hundreds of validation tables, it is much more precise than EAGLE has required us to be.

4. SICAS training brought NY state perspective to Banner implementation.

· SUNY alphabet soup of applications has been explored:

· APC tape load (Application Processing Center)

· APC admissions decision report

· SDF reports (Student Data File)

· CASA reports (Course And Section Analysis)

· DAF reports (Degree Awarded File)

· TAP processing

(Tuition Assistance Plan)

· SUSTA reports (State University Supplemental Assistance)

· APTS processing (Aid for Part-time Study)

· SUNY or NYS proscribed processes explored:

· Vouchering financial aid to student accounts

· Direct Lending vouchering applications

· Some processes and table values we had already established will need to be modified to allow SICAS processes to work.

5. Scheduled facilities fully entered in Banner and linked to NY state inventory.

· Covered were instructional facilities (including off-campus venues) and residence hall facilities.
