Facilities in the works

Facilities and Planning is making progress on three major projects on the SUNY Brockport campus. Here's a recap:

· The Welcome Center contract will be awarded very soon, as soon as the College receives the accounting/funding data from the State University

Construction Fund (SUCF). The contract completion dates are being renegotiated due to the project's delay and the coming winter weather.

· The MetroCenter/Chamber of Commerce Building renovation will not be completed in Jan. as

originally planned, due to a multitude of factors. A new completion date will be set for March or April (although an e-mail to the editor from Karen Schuhle-Williams, special sessions and programs, indicated it might be as late as May).

· The Tuttle-to-Drake bridge, a $1.5 million project, will be bid this month or in December, with a planned completion date in the fall-winter of 2002-2003. Heavy construction activity will be held off until after Commencement. There will be no road interruptions on New Campus Drive.
