Counselor Choice Activities |
| |
|
| BKC counselors are required to submit weekly lesson plans prior to the start of each session. Since a large part of each camper's day is spent with their age group and counselor (counselor choice activities), it is important that the counselor have age-appropriate activities planned that are creative, fun, safe and sometimes even educational! Typically, depending on the age group, counselor choice activities include a variety of sports (soccer, tennis, basketball, croquet, bocce, etc.), games (tag, parachute activities, scooter activities, etc.) and other activities such as arts & crafts. A vast majority of the day is spent in organized activities and "down time" is minimized. |

Field Trips |
| |
|
| Throughout the summer several off-campus field trips are planned. Although we strongly encourage each camper to attend the scheduled field trip, we do allow campers to "stay back" if they do not want to attend a field trip. If you register your camper for a session that includes a field trip, please notify a staff member no later than Tuesday whether or not your camper will be attending. All field trips include bus transportation and admission to the trip location. Specific field trip information (cost, lunch options, departure times, etc.) will be available the first day of the session. It is important to note that campers are always supervised by a staff member the entire trip. Please contact the camp director at (585) 395-5974 with any questions or concerns you may have. |

Swimming |
| |
|
| Campers will swim each day (except days when a field trip is scheduled) in the Tuttle North Pool. While campers are swimming, a minimum of two lifeguards will be on-deck, along with the camp director or assistant camp director. Additionally, a swim instructor and many counselors will be in the water with campers. Formal swim lessons are available for an additional fee. The first day that a camper attends, they will be required to either take a swim test or wear a life jacket. Campers who cannot pass the swim test will be required to wear a life jacket or use an acceptable flotation device. Life jackets and other flotation devices are provided. Please contact the camp director at (585) 395-5974 with any questions or concerns you may have. |
