Student Life & Services

Do I have to be affiliated with the College to send my child to BKC?

No, BKC is open to the College community as well as surrounding communities. In the past, we have had campers from Maryland, Florida, Chile and China!

Does my child have to attend every session, or can I choose which session(s) my child attends?
Campers can attend one session, three sessions or every session - it is entirely up to you (and based on availability!) In the past, a majority of campers attend 3 - 4 sessions per summer.

Do you provide early and late care?
Yes, we provide care from 7:15 am to 5:30 pm every camp day. Early and late care is available at no additional charge!

On average how many campers attend each session?
During 2006 sessions, we averaged 34 campers per session - four sessions filled to capacity.

How are campers divided up in to groups?
In the past, campers ages four and five were in group one, campers ages six and seven were in group two, campers ages eight and nine were in group three and campers ages ten to twelve were in group four. A similar format will be used in 2007.

Is lunch included in the registration fee?
Although lunch is not included in the registration fee, we do offer several lunch options available for an additional fee or campers may bring in their own lunch. We do not provide a place for campers to refrigerate items.

 Do campers swim each day?
Yes! All campers have an opportunity to swim in our pool each and every day (except field trip days). Of course, American Red Cross lifeguards are on-duty, as well as a certified swim instructor (formal swim lessons are available for an additional fee). Additionally, a member of the camp's professional staff is always on-deck to supervisor pool activities.

Does BKC receive a permit from the Monroe County Health Department?
Yes, the Monroe County Health Department issues BKC a summer camp permit each year. Although the permit only covers summer sessions, we strictly follow all regulations for other sessions (February and April).

Why should I send my child to BKC?
Our tag line is "Good Times. New Friends. A Unique Experience." which we believe is an accurate representation of the BKC experience. Each day campers participate in a variety of fun, safe activities. At the same time, campers have an opportunity to interact with other campers and build friendships that will last a lifetime. Finally, since BKC is located on the The College at Brockport campus and many on-campus resources are utilized, BKC is truly a Unique Experience! Why not give us a try?
