Past achievements The club consistently is ranked among the top 5 college teams on the East Coast annually. Dr Dawn Jones, club advisor, is one of the highest ranked women’s black belts in the nation. Many current and former college club members have been ranked as national champions since the club’s inception. 15 members have reached the level of Black Belt while in the club.

 Instructor Information

Michael Jones, 5th Degree Black Belt
Michael Jones is the current Head Tae Kwon Do Instructor and holds the rank of Fifth Degree Black Belt in the World Martial Arts Association (WMAA). Before coming to SUNY Brockport, he taught Tae Kwon Do at SUNY Fredonia, Western Michigan University and Keuka College. He is an official WMAA National Tournament Referee. At the College tournament in 2009, he placed second in the Men's fifth degree division for forms and freestyle. Currently, he is the Western New York Regional Director for the WMAA.

Dawn M. Jones, Ph. D, 4rd Degree Black Belt, Club Advisor
Dawn Jones has achieved the rank of Full Instructor and she is one of only 6 women nationally who have achieved the rank of fourth degree black belt in the WMAA. She has been an advisor and Assistant Instructor in four schools. She is also an Official WMAA National Tournament Referee. At the National Tournament in 2010, she was the first place champion in the Women's black belt forms division, and second place champion in Women's freestyle. She is also a Head Counselor and Instructor at the WMAA children's camp each summer.
