This is a list of Frequently Asked Questions regarding Intramural Sports and the College at Brockport.
Putting Together a Team or Finding a Team
Q: How do I sign-up for Intramurals?
Print off a registration form for your desired Intramural and fill out all the required information on the form. Once you have all of the information filled out drop off the form with the registration fee, if there is one, to the Intramural office Tuttle North 281 before the registration deadline.
Q: How can I participate in Intramural sports if I do not have a team?
Print off a free agent form and fill out all the required information. Once you have all of the information filled out drop off the form with the registration fee, if there is one, to the Intramural office Tuttle North 281 before the registration deadline.
Q: What intramural sports are offered for each semester?
Information on the sports offered during each semester can be found on the Intramural website and on the Intramural schedules which can be found in the Union, Dinning Halls, and throughout Tuttle North.
Who Can Play and What Do You Need?
Q: Who is eligible to participate in intramural sports?
All students currently enrolled at the College at Brockport as well as all faculty and staff members.
Q: What do I need to participate in intramural sports?
All players must hand in their Brockport ID to the Intramural manager before each game. Everyone must be dressed in appropriate clothing for the game they are participating in.
Q: What is the maximum number of participants a team can have on their roster?
You can have as many people as you want on your team roster. Students can be added to the roster at any point during the regular season. Students can not be on more than one roster for the same sport unless one of the team’s is in the co-rec league. Championship t-shirts will only be handed out to players present at the championship game.
Q: When and where are intramural games played?
Team Intramurals are played at a variety of locations.
- Flag Football & Ultimate Frisbee – Recreation fields near X-lot parking lot
- Broomball & Ice Hockey – Ice Arena
- Volleyball – Tuttle South Gym
- All other sports are played in the Tuttle North gyms
Q: What must my team do to be eligible for the playoffs?
Playoffs are determined by the amount of teams in the league and the availability of field or gym space.
Q: What are sportsmanship points? How are they related to intramurals?
Sportsmanship points are awarded by the game staff depending on how well behaved the teams with 4 being the highest and 1 being the lowest. Sportsmanship points may determine whether or not a team is eligible for the playoffs. Any team that receives a 2 or 1 more than once will not be eligible for the playoffs no matter how good their record is.
Employment
Q: I am interested in becoming an official or scorekeeper. What should I do?
Anyone interested in working for Intramurals should print off an application on the Intramural web-site and hand it in to the office located in Tuttle North 281. We primarily hire at the beginning of the fall semester but may need to hire additional staff throughout the year.
Q: Can I participate in intramurals and officiate during the same semester?
Yes, as long as you notify the Intramural office of when your games are so you are not scheduled to work that night. If you are scheduled to work and did not ask for the night off then you will need to officiate unless you can find a substitute.
