MAJORS RESERVATION – Who is eligible?

  • As long as the academic department participates in major reservation (and not all do), matriculated undergraduates may register for courses only in their major discipline directly in their major department office during Majors Reservation week. For example: a Communication major may register in the Communication Department for only CMC courses. Check with your major department to see if they will be participating in majors reservation. Other courses that will make up the rest of your schedule, even major courses that you did not major reserve in the department, must be registered on your designated day according to the registration schedule. Go to www.brockport.edu/registrar and click on "What's Majors Reservation?" for more information.

ADVANCE REGISTRATION – Who is eligible?

  • Matriculated Undergraduate StudentsCurrently enrolled matriculated undergraduates are eligible for advance registration for an upcoming spring or fall semester. Advance registration for matriculated undergraduates is usually in November for the next spring semester and in April for the next fall. Completed credits and first letters of the last name designate dates and times for matriculated undergraduate registration. Check your registration status for your day and time to register. Courses in progress do not count toward completed credits for purposes of advance registration. Matriculated undergraduates should check the registration schedule online at www.brockport.edu/registrar for their correct day to register. Matriculated undergraduate students may register after their designated day, but not before.
  • Matriculated Graduate StudentsCurrently enrolled matriculated graduates are eligible for advance registration for an upcoming spring or fall semester. Advance registration for matriculated graduates starts the week before matriculated undergraduate registration starts. Check the registration schedule online at www.brockport.edu/registrar under "When Can I Register?" for your registration date.
  • Non-matriculated Undergraduate Students - Currently enrolled non-matriculated undergraduates are eligible for advance registration. New non-matriculated undergraduate students and non-matriculated undergraduate students who have only taken courses during the summer or winter term, must complete an application in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions prior to registration. Any questions regarding the application process should be directed to Undergraduate Admissions, (585) 395-2751.
  • Non-matriculated Graduate Students - A non–matriculated (non-degree) graduate student is a student who has earned at least a baccalaureate degree but has not been accepted to a master’s or certificate of advanced study program at Brockport. Currently enrolled non-matriculated graduate students are eligible for advance registration and can register online. New non-matriculated graduate students and non-matriculated graduate students who have only taken courses during the summer or winter term, must apply for non-degree status before they can register for spring and fall semester. For more information on non-degree status, contact the Office of Graduate Admissions, (585) 395-5465.
