Ali Gonzalez , Resident Director of Mortimer Hall

McFarlane Hall RD Office 585-395-2358 agonzale@brockport.edu

I am a native from the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico.  At the age of 18, I enlisted and successfully completed a 7 Year Army military career.  However, my inspiration was always to attain a higher education.  Years latter, with the assistance of the GIBILL and a Graduate Diversity Fellowship, I attained my MS in Recreation and Leisure Studies from The College at Brockport, 08.  I set high standards for myself - Honored as The School of Professional Graduate Award 07-08 - and expect the same from people whom I work.  My main goal has always been to help people and provide opportunities for social support to grow amongst which builds community.   Upon graduation, my true desire was to become a Resident Director at Brockport - I know that I set a good example for students to work hard attain a similar college experience.  As an asset to Residential Life, my goal is to retain students by helping them to effectively maneuver through the ups and downs of this phase of their life.
