Number of Years Working at Brockport: 5+ years in Res Life |
Why did you choose Residential Life? It all started after being a RA here at Brockport for three years. I absolutely loved planning programs and helping students adjust to college. After being a Resident Director for the past three years, I have been able to work with great Resident Assistants, help make a difference in my first year students' transition, and have developed great friendships with our Res Life team - who could ask for a better job! |

What do you love about Brockport? Brockport used to just be the place where I went to college, but now after being here for through the years, Brockport has become my home. I love the canal, the main street shops, the size of our campus, and our location to my hometown, Rochester. (I do hate the snow though!) |

What's the best part of your job? The best part of my job is the interactions that I have with students. I love being able to watch incoming students transition through their first year and become mature college students. I also love how every day is completely different, and it never gets boring. |
What do you do for fun? There's nothing more fun than playing video games! Anything from classic NES to Xbox 360 or the Wii. My favorites are any of the Mario and Zelda games through the years. |
Any advice for first year students? I encourage all first year students to make the most out of their college experience. Many first year students forget the importance of getting involved and building their resume right at the beginning. Become involved in Resident Council, your major's club, and anything you enjoy whether it's sports, dance, publications, student government, etc. I also encourage first year students to meet as many people as possible, and just have fun. |

Most memorable program at Brockport : Holiday Helping Hand - Adopt A Family Fundraiser (annually) - All 12 residence halls team up with the entire campus to support needy families for the holiday season. Our students donate over a thousand gifts to local families in need every year. |
