Number of Years Working at Brockport: 3 years

Why did you choose Residential Life?

I worked with Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth for 6 years (Summer program) as an RA and as an administrator and it has shaped my life in many ways including leading me down the residence life path.

What do you like most about Brockport?

Its a small school so getting to know most of the students is a manageable task worth pursuing.

What's the best part of your job?

Working with students directly.  I enjoy being a resource to students in need of academic, social, and personal support.

What do you do for fun?

I play in multiple ultimate frisbee leagues, I like to call myself a "runner" but really I just do it for fun on the side of my other priorities, I enjoy reading; Authors on my top ten list include RA Salvatore, Tom
Robbins, Mitch Album, and Chuck Palahniuk. I also like to do adventurous things ranging anywhere from rock climbing/cliff jumping to poorly planned road trips that turn into some of the most memorable times in ones life.

Any advice for first year students?

Take a manageable coarse load of varying domains of study to gain a better
understanding of what you may want to pursue as a major.

Most memorable program you put on or attended at Brockport?
It was a program on positive thinking and perception and it was during the 2007 Brockport Residential Assistant Conference.  The presenters were very enthusiastic about this line of work and were an inspiration to the audience including me.
