Why did you choose Residential Life?

I believe in constantly challenging myself--and Residential Life is definitely a new challenge!  Throughout my life I have had a lot of varied experiences, working in different places with different people, and Residential Life seems to tie all of those experiences together for me. I can’t imagine a better way to directly impact student success than to work within a residential community. I also absolutely love living where I work and feeling so connected to the “pulse” of student life here at Brockport.

What do you love about Brockport?

What’s not to love? Brockport has passionate, dedicated faculty and staff, has tons of opportunities to become involved on campus, is located in a charming village with four beautiful seasons and unique local businesses, and is large enough to challenge yourself to expand and grow--yet small enough that you’re supported and known. We’ve got it all!

What's the best part of your job?

There are so many things to say here! First of all, my RAs constantly amaze me with their dedication and creativity. The “many hats” that an RD wears is an appealing part of the job—balancing the many administrative tasks with the student-focused side of the job.  Also, the commute, or lack thereof, is pretty nice…I walk exactly 14 steps from my apartment to my office!

What do you do for fun?

In general, nothing beats time spent with family and good friends. I also love to spend time outside, especially in the Fall. I like crafty things, but find I’m not very good at them. Also, during football season you can find me glued to the TV watching (or crying over) the one and only Buffalo Bills!
