Why did you choose Residential Life? The ability to make a difference in the lives of our students. I find it fun to watch the growth and development of my students and help them mature into mature and responsible adults. |
What do you like most about Brockport? The people I will be working with and the students I will be working for. There is so much that Brockport offers, who wouldn't love it? |
What's the best part of your job? Working with my staff and being able to get to know the residents of my building! |
What do you do for fun? I enjoy spending time outdoors, getting in touch with nature. Such examples are rollerblading (although not that good!), riding my bike, or going for a walk along the canal. |
Any advice for first year students? Don't waste your college experience! Get involved with academic clubs, social clubs, RA programming etc. This is your time..make the most of it! |

Most memorable program you put on or attended at Brockport?
The most memorable program that I did was my last floor program of my RA career in 2005 when I was an RA in Mortimer. I did a "Surprise Unbirthday" program for the residents on my floor. A couple months before the program, I sent a letter to the parents/guardians (with permission of course!) of my residents and explained what I was doing and asked if they could send a small present for their loved one. At my final program/floor meeting, I had the lounge all decorated like a birthday party! After the meeting I told them what I had done and gave out their presents and gave them all birthday cake! It was the best program and my residents STILL talk about it 3 years later! |
