Q: Are there minimum requirements for a PC to be connected to ResNet? If so, what are they?
A: There are very specific minimum PC requirements. If your PC does not meet these requirements, you can not be connected to ResNet. Read the requirements.

Q:Do I need to buy cables, a modem or anything?
A: You do not need a modem or cables. What you will need is a network interface card (NIC). Make sure you purchase the correct NIC card for your PC. Check out our recommendations and suggested vendor list.

Q:How fast a connection will I have to the Internet?
A: You will have an Ethernet connection to the campus network giving you access to the Internet via a T3 line. Your response time can be affected by campus network traffic, as well as normal Internet traffic; however, your connection will still be much faster than using a modem.
