What is Scholars Day?

SUNY College at Brockport's Scholars Day was instituted in 1984 through the efforts of the College Senate. Scholars Day has continued as a celebration of scholarly pursuits by the campus community.

Scholars Day has several purposes:

To publicize research, including methodologies and conclusions;
To share new ideas and concepts;
To expand knowledge;
To provide an opportunity to socialize with members of the campus community outside of one's own department.

This year there are 206 presentations/poster sessions and three exhibits with 466 presenters/session chairs from the campus community (several of whom will present at multiple sessions). This includes 410 presenters (comprised of 350 students and 60 faculty/staff), and an additional 56 faculty/staff chairs for sessions and the remainder are exhibitors.

Join Us In Celebrating Student Success on Wednesday, April 12, 2006

Scholars Day presentations begin at 9 am and continue until 4:45 pm on the SUNY Brockport campus. We are excited to announce at the request of faculty members that we will be also having Scholars Nite at our downtown MetroCenter from 6- 7:30 pm that day. See the attached schedule for specifics.
Exhibits - will be located by Sea Grant in the lobby of Edwards Hall, by Overseas Academic Programs in the lobby of Hartwell Hall, and in the evening at the MetroCenter for a "Meet and Greet" the MetroCenter Graduate Assistants.

Sessions are free and open to the public.
