The Arts for All program is an inclusion initiative between SUNY Brockport's graduate dance education students and Greece Athena High School teaching specialists to provide instruction in creative movement and dance conditioning to selected students of the school’s special education population. Specifically, the Arts for All program aims to develop relationships with individuals of diverse abilities through Dance. Along a timeline that consists of observation, mentorship, curriculum development, instruction, assessment and reflection, graduate dance students are bringing dance to a population underserved by Dance Education while developing personally and professionally through experiential learning. This presentation will share the planning and implementation of the Arts for All dance program, in addition to the implications that have surfaced along the way. The purpose of this presentation is to provide a forum for issues of diversity in Dance and Education.
