Mastery Motivation: From Infancy to Adulthood

This paper examines the progression of achievement and motivation throughout the eras of childhood, from preschool to elementary school, middle school and high school. Each section describes how developmental factors, some unique to each era and some continous through childhood, interact with the child’s changing environments to produce mastery motivation. Each era of childhood has unique aspects, but there are many similarities between the eras. The topic of mastery motivation is beneficial to those who will become teachers, counselors, and psychologists. The paper was written through the extraction of various sources and studies
