17th century France was the envy of all Europe. The Sun King, as Louis XIV liked to be called, was shining in all his glory. Literature, music and the Arts were flourishing at Versailles, but there are those men in powerful positions who made it happen, and three students are going to talk about two formidable men, Jean-Baptiste Colbert, Louis XIX's finance minister and Jules Mazarin, Prime Minister under the Regent Anne of Austria and confidant of Louis XIV, and one religious group, the Jesuites. Presentations are in French.
