
Since the 1980s, scientist have become aware of pharmaceuticals not only ermerging untreated from sewage treatment plants but entering local waterways. The U.S. Geological Survey conducted a survey of 139 streams in the USA in 1999, and 80% of them were found to be contaminated with at least on pharamceutical. However, no research to date has been conducted in the Northeast. Do these pharmaceuticals exist in Lake Ontario and her tributaries?
