The Writers Forum has been part of the SUNY Brockport landscape for 4 decades and, in fact, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. The Writers Forum Videotape Library was started in 1968 and currently contains more than 300 interviews, readings, and discussions of craft with major contemporary authors. A project was initiated in 2005 to digitize the Writers Forum material and make it available over the Web to a larger audience. This presentation talks about the state of the project, lessons learned and the future directions of the Writers Forum Digital Collection. Excerpts from digitized Writers Forum audio and video recordings will also be presented.
