Industrial storage tanks come in a variety of sizes and capacities. Instrumentation inserted through a nozzle in the top of the tank is available for measuring the height of liquid in the tank. However the information needed is the volume of liquid in the tank. We apply multivariable calculus methods to the solution of the problem.
