The colorful houses in the neighborhood of La Boca are one of the most popular tourist attractions in the cosmopolitan city of Buenos Aires. Behind the doors of the main street a different reality exists. The citizens of this local community live as social outcasts of a "civilized" society that exploits them for economic purposes, yet leaves their core needs unmet. This presentation will expose the poverty, crime and marginalization suffered by a group of people that immigrated to the region without ever being accepted by the majority of the population nor benefiting from their rights as citizens.
