The Impact of Mental Imagery on Physical Practice in the Motor Retention of Dancers versus Non-Dancers

Dancers often use mental imagery to enhance the learning and rehearsing of movement. To assess the impact of mental imagery, a study using both mental and physical practice to teach and test motor retention was completed with dancers and non-dancers. Study analysis was completed using the Ariel Performance Analysis System to assess motor retention quanitatively and a dance criteria to measure motor retention qualitatively.
