The focus of this study is to examine the factors that determine parental involvement and encouragement. There is a considerable amount of research linking higher parental involvement to higher academic success in children. For this reason, it is important to study what ideologies and barriers exist that prevents parents from becoming involved and encouraging. This report focuses on mothers and variables that influence and affect their involvement and encouragement.
