The Trickster with Many Faces: Accidental Creator of the World

This paper will analyze the various faces of the trickster in Native North American myths. I will look at how the trickster is responsible for the creation, and sometimes destruction of things in their respective worlds. This paper will discuss the regional differences of the trickster as this being appears in the guise of Raven, Crow, Coyote, and Rabbit to name a few. This paper will also take a look at the ways gender manifests in trickster tales in Native American culture.
