The value of the MBA to the individual has been widely debated. However, there is little research that focuses on the value of the MBA from an organizational standpoint. My research looks critically at the MBA and whether the presence of MBAs among the board of directors is correlated with performance in select industries, particularly those in which the MBA would seem beneficial.
