In the Public Relations Campaigns course taught by Professor Karen S. Olson, APR, students work in teams as account executives for a class PR agency. Throughout the semester, each team works with a nonprofit organization in the Rochester area to develop a comprehensive public relations campaign for a project chosen by the client. The presenters were on different agency teams: one worked with the Susan B. Anthony House and the other with the Landmark Society of Western New York. They will discuss the four-step PR process used to develop their plans: research, objectives, programming and evaluation. They will also show highlights of the final PR campaigns created for both client organizations and share insights gained from this service-learning experience.
