A GUI Viewer for Multi-Type 3D Datasets

A graphical user interface (GUI) viewer is developed to visualize multi-dimensional scientific data obtained from experimental measurement or numerical simulation. A script language Tcl/Tk is used to call a dynamically linked library that contains VTK functions written in C++. The Visualization Toolkit (VTK) is a software system specially designed for 3D computer graphics visualization. The developed GUI viewer can be applied for the visualization of various datasets, including image data or structured points data, rectilinear grid data, structured grid data, unstructured grid data made from triangles, and polygonal data consisting of points, lines, and triangles that are formed to represent surfaces and structures.
