ďA third of U.S. college students drink alcohol in a pattern that identifies them as binge drinkers (Sizer and Whitney 91). Using secondary data to look at alcohol consumption patterns for SUNY Brockport students, this thesis will investigate the magnitude of the problem and its potential affects on nutrition. Particular attention will be given to the impact of alcohol expenditure on the average studentsí caloric and nutrient intake, as well as nutrient absorption.
