Fossil Coral Reefs on San Salvador

I studied fossil corals and other organisms that lived under the sea at San Salvador 125,000 years ago when sea level around the world was about 8 m higher than today. The existence of these fossil reefs has important implications for human habitation of today’s coastal areas in light of global warming and sea level rise predicted for the coming century.
