Functional Assessment

Functional assessment refers to a variety of procedures to identify antecedents and consequences of problem behavior. Functional analysis is the systematic manipulation of environmental events in order to experimentally test their role as antecedents or consequences in controlling the problem behavior. Research literature on functional assessment and analysis has been reviewed. A research project will be conducted utilizing a software program that presents case studies of problem behavior that vary in degree of difficulty. The goal of this research project is to find out what order of case study presentations maximizes the learning of functional assessment and analysis.
